🌿 Meet the Maker
Hello, I’m Jacqui
I’m the ceramic artist behind Jacqui B Ceramics and the creator of the Petal & Earth collection. I work from both my home studio and a community ceramics studio here in Stoke‑on‑Trent — the heart of the UK pottery industry. It’s a place where clay, craft, and heritage are woven into everyday life, and it’s where my own ceramic journey began.
How It All Started
When I moved to Stoke‑on‑Trent, I joined a ceramics class as a way to meet new people and try something new. I had no idea it would change my life. From the very first session, I was hooked. The feel of clay between my hands, the excitement of shaping something from nothing, and the joy of decorating each piece with intention — it all felt like coming home.
There’s nothing quite like hearing someone say, “Wow, that’s amazing — did you make that?” The joy it brings is immeasurable. Working with clay has given me a sense of peace and purpose, which is why my tagline means so much to me:
Hands full of clay, heart full of love.
Inspired by Life, Nature, and Colour
My work is shaped by the journey I’ve lived — from English spring flowers to African sunsets and everything in between. I wait for inspiration to strike before committing to a design, allowing each piece to grow naturally from the ideas and emotions behind it.
Botanical forms, soft lines, and organic textures guide much of my work. I take delight in interpreting these inspirations in a way that feels expressive, calming, and deeply personal.
A Slow, Intentional Craft
My process is rooted in patience and care. I’m always learning and expanding my skills — from throwing and hand‑building to slip‑casting and detailed hand‑painting. Nothing here is rushed. Each piece moves through many stages, each one shaped by my hands and my heart.
Ceramics for Everyday Rituals
I create pieces that are both functional and expressive — ceramics that bring a sense of calm to the everyday. Whether it’s a morning coffee, a quiet moment with a favourite mug, or a handmade plate used for a special meal, I want my work to feel grounding, comforting, and personal.
A Story in Every Piece
Handmade ceramics carry a story — of the maker, the process, and the person who chooses to bring them into their home. My hope is that my pieces bring a little beauty, stillness, and nature‑inspired joy into your day.
